About

Females throughout history are a force to be reckoned with. Our vocations and avocations are wide-ranging and have certainly left an impact on society. In addition to professional work, it is amazing the number of skills women have been yielding over the centuries – cooking, baking, cleaning, sewing, upholstery, painting, house repairs, house management, gardening, lawn care…. and those are just the things around the house. Being able to teach, lecture, read, craft, volunteer, advocate, improve are all gifts females contribute to their communities as well.

It reminds me of the Georgian era novel, Pride and Prejudice, when the discussion of an accomplished women arises.

“A woman must have a thorough knowledge of music, singing, drawing, dancing, all the modern languages, to deserve the word; and besides all this, she must possess a certain something in her air and manner of walking, the tone of her voice, her address, and expressions, or the word will be but half deserved.”

(Jane Austen, Vol. I, Ch. 8)

The main character, Elizabeth Bennet, objects that such a woman doesn’t exist. However, if I surveyed most women today, I believe they would disagree and add several more items to that list.

While it can seem burdensome at times, it is quite an accomplishment to have the ability and talent to do so many different and complex things.

It may seem like women are never at rest – in this space, we’ll explore traveling, hobbies, and health goals that keep us moving and give us drive. However, it is also important to know that we can’t do it all, and it is important to take time to actually rest. I’ll share tips on that too!

I am excited to share my travels, health journey, and many unique hobbies through this blog. In turn, I’m also excited for this community to share their own distinctive stories. My hope is that we can inspire each other wherever we are on this path called life.
